THE RIVER WE ONCE KNEW

THE RIVER WE ONCE KNEW a talk by David Morris

As a young man I thought the future was uncertain. But the present, well that was a

constant, a certainty.

Turns out I was wrong.

The present drifts away slowly before our eyes along with our constants and our

certainties.

‘The River we once knew’ is an exploration of photographs taken of Hull in the early

1970’s and our changing attitude towards photography. Long forgotten pubs, kids

playing in streets about to be demolished and a river no longer recognizable show

just how much of our world has changed in such a short time.
