HIP Festival (Hull International Photography Festival) is an annual event that celebrates this physical art form and recognises the cultural importance photography holds. It is a digitally accessible, globally recognised event for professionals and amateur photographers to immerse themselves in the world of photography. Photographers involved gain support, develop their skill set and have the chance to showcase their work alongside the best in the world. You can exhibit, sell work, buy photography products, exchange ideas, and network. Emerging photographer of any age and ability can, learn, share their passion and enjoy the atmosphere. This year will include the exciting arrival of #PhotoCity at the festival in partnership with #Fujiholics. A £5 wristband gives you access to all 10 exhibitions, the HIPfest Prize Draw, discounts on site, learning opportunities and the ability to purchase workshop & masterclass tickets. The separately ticketed (coming soon) workshops and masterclasses will be priced from 10 to 20 pounds, but must be accompanied by a £5 festival wristband to gain entry.

HIP Fest provides a rich cultural mix, offering a month long festival of photographic memories for both young and old, with an exciting first weekend of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, product demo’s & photo opportunities. This is followed by a programme of exhibitions, discussions, lectures & workshops lasting through the month. The festival will begin on the 5th October 2018, with 10 exhibitions, masterclasses and trade stands in Hull City Centre. Locations will include the Hull Independent Photography Gallery, The Creative & Cultural Company Arts Spaces and the decks of Princes Quay Shopping Centre.
