HIP Gallery partners with the world’s first digital social currency, HullCoin.
// Alan Raw
Volunteers supporting Hull’s International Photography Festival taking place at the HIP Gallery until the 31st of October will qualify for HullCoin, a digital token that can be exchanged as a form of discount designed to boost Hull’s local economy.
The partnership heralds a first for the festival and an early application of the award winning technology behind HullCoin. HIP Gallery will distribute HullCoin as a way to say thank you to people supporting the free festival that has attracted work from some of the world’s leading journalistic, documentary and artistic photographers.
Alan Raw Curator of HIP Gallery and CEO of the Creative & Cultural Company said “This is a perfect partnership for us. As a non-profit voluntary organisation run by like minded local people, HullCoin fits our values and rewards the people who make this festival possible. ”
Alongside supporting the Hull International Photography Festival, HullCoin is inviting artists across the city to use HullCoin as a way of connecting their work with wider community and supporting the great things that are happening.
David Shepherdson from HullCoin “We’re delighted to be supporting HIP Gallery and the Festival through recognising the crucial roles volunteers play in supporting artistic and cultural excellence accessible to everyone in the city”
Hull International Photography Festival runs from 1st October until 30th October situated across the city with a hub on the ground floor of Princes Quay Shopping Centre. The festival features work by world class, multi award winning artists including Peter Dench, Ian Macdonald, Matt Finn, Isabelle Pateer and the Travel Photographer Of The Year Awards show.
